of Kom Ombo. Savour this evening’s buffet of local specialities and traditional music and dancing. Day 5: Edfu - Esna Explore the Temple of Horus; Egypt’s most complete preserved Pharaonic temple. Return to your boat for lunch and continue cruising to Esna. This afternoon, your Egyptologist guides you around Esna’s Graeco-Roman Temple of Khnum. Tonight, enjoy dinner on board. Day 6: Luxor Explore the Temple of Luxor with your expert Egyptologist. Continue to the Temple of Karnak, and - this afternoon - the Valley of the Kings. Visit at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. En route back to the Nile, pass the Colossi of Memnon known for their haunting dawn ‘voices’. Return to your vessel for afternoon tea followed by a farewell gala dinner. Day 7: Giza - Cairo This morning; transfer to Luxor Airport for a flight to Cairo. On arrival, continue to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the last standing of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The nearby Sphinx with its lion body and human face is positioned to guard the king’s funerary monument. Proceed to your hotel after the excursion. Day 8: Fly to the UK Today is your last day with us in Egypt. Say goodbye to your fellow travellers as you transfer to Cairo International Airport for you flight back to the UK.

Day 1: Fly from the UK to Cairo Begin your adventure by flying from the UK to Cairo. Transfer to the Kempinski Nile Hotel (or similar) and check into your room for the next 2 nights. Day 2: Cairo Morning visit to the Egyptian Museum. Welcome dinner buffet with wine this evening. Day 3: Aswan Fly to Aswan to begin your four-night Nile cruise aboard the 32-cabin Sanctuary Nile Adventurer or the Sanctuary Sun Boat IV. After check-in and lunch; ride a traditional felucca sailboat around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens, and Agha Khan Mausoleum. Attend a welcome reception and programme overview this evening. Enjoy Egyptian wine and beer with canapés, followed by a gourmet dinner, folkloric show, Take a motorboat ride to Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika. Next up are the granite quarries - which supplied much of the hard stone used to build the Egyptians’ pyramids and temples - you’ll also see the Unfinished Obelisk. Back aboard, enjoy an Egyptian cooking lesson and lunch as you cruise to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple and Whirling Dervish performance. Day 4: Agilika Island - Kom Ombo
