Snow Mold on Cool-Season Turf Golf Program – Greens, Tees, & Fairways 2019-2020 The Challenge
Microdochium patch, pink snow mold and gray snow molds are devastating turf diseases. They occur on golf course putting greens, tees and fairways in the presence or absence of snow cover. These diseases are not only unsightly but can result in unplayable turf surfaces and delayed course openings in the spring. These delayed openings can lead to potential loss of revenue and rounds as well as risk to course reputation among golfers. Consistent, Proven, Reliable Solutions Although many fungicides are labeled for Microdochium patch and snow mold control, Bayer Stressgard ® fungicides are proven to provide excellent disease control and healthier, more robust turf coming out of winter. Interface ® Stressgard, the Backbone of Snow Mold Programs Interface Stressgard offers the flexibility to customize a snow mold program for putting greens, tees and fairways without sacrificing performance. It also provides superior spring green up and turf quality. Ten years of university research and golf course applications have clearly demonstrated the success and advantages of Interface Stressgard. The Power of Three Combine Mirage ® Stressgard or Tartan ® Stressgard with Interface Stressgard for even greater control (see recommendations chart). For gray snow molds, Mirage Stressgard is the tank-mix partner of choice while Tartan Stressgard is recommended if pink snow mold is the predominant problem. These three products represent distinct fungicide classes with different modes of action and when combined, offer powerful disease management solutions. For added protection under extended snow cover, Bayer solutions can be tank-mixed with additional active ingredients/products like PCNB or Daconil Weather Stik ® .
