Deafblindness is a complex disability that combines varying degrees of both hearing and visual loss, making it unique to each individual and requiring specialized support. The world of an individual who is deafblind extends only as far as their reach. Through the specialized touch of professional Intervenors, the world is brought closer to them. The ideal candidate has a minimum of one-year post-secondary education and/or one to three years of related work experience. The candidate must have knowledge or willingness to learn techniques for providing Intervenor Services to people with deafblindness through a total communication approach. In addition, the candidate will possess good written and verbal communication skills, and must demonstrate respect, leadership, trust and team work. Candidates must also possess current CPR/ First Aid certification. This position is located in Embrun and will commence ASAP.
