Atlantic Vision’s customisable MST

Massachusetts-based Atlantic Vision has released a customisable LightBoost Multiport Service Terminal (MST) for fibre cable installation. LightBoost replaces bulky, expensive splice cases with a smaller, all-in-one terminal that splits fibre more efficiently. This means fewer parts, less labour, and lower overall fibre pulling costs for network expansion. The LightBoost Terminal is OptiTap compatible, an industry standard, proven open platform design for quick and easy deployment. The MST is believed to be the first such customisable terminal on the market. “It’s also the first MST to offer operators customisation in such a small form factor terminal,” explains Sebastian Sassi,

VP of Sales at Atlantic Vision. “Whereas other MSTs on the market do not provide customisable optical pathway solutions. Think of it this way: typical MSTs are like cul-de-sacs that aren’t designed to offer concentrated diverse pathways closer to the core of the passive optical network. The new design is like being able to put a four-leaf clover at every intersection everywhere in a fibre network and allows more traffic to pass with 30% less fibre pulling to do.” Broadband providers both large and small are building out their optical fibre networks to meet steadily increasing subscriber demand. Sassi says that demand is helping independent manufacturers like Atlantic Vision capture business that large manufacturers can’t handle, including custom orders

EXFO’s new OLTS

EXFO has launched the pro version of its PXM/LXM OLTS (Optical Loss Test Set) providing accurate and reliable Tier 1 certification in data centre networks now tasked with handling massive volumes of data in an AI-driven world. The product was launched at EXFO’s booth #419 during BICSI Winter 2025 in Orlando, Florida. EXFO says its PXM/LXM testing of signal loss, length, and polarity is delivered in one second—the

densifying to handle burgeoning usage demand.

Key features include: • Fastest in the industry: 1-second OLTS testing leads the industry. And the pro version of the PXM/LXM measures loss, length, and polarity on duplex and multi- fibre links at two wavelengths, compliant with industry standards. • First-time-right polarity: the only tester on the market that can detect duplex and base- 8/12 polarity issues hidden in trunk cabling. • Flexibility: In addition to native duplex and base-8/12 fibre testing, the PXM/LXM enables testing of 16 or 24 fibres in just one second using dual kits or a loopback method. • Multi-connector compatibility: switch within seconds between duplex and multi-fibre testing with patented Click-Out

fastest in the industry—and compliant with certification

standards. Now, contractors and data centre technicians of any experience level can manage Tier- 1 certifications with confidence, ensuring first-time-right testing and avoiding costly repeat tests. That’s critical at a time when data centres are being impacted by the generative AI revolution, with centres propagating globally and

adapters, compatible with duplex MDC, SN, LC as well as MPO and SYSTIMAX MTP. • Pre-load tests to save time: possible to create test identifiers in FastReporter3 and

import to instruments as jobs. • Lower cost of ownership: click-out connector design, 3-year warranty, and calibration keeps testers in the field, not the factory.
