1924: Sovereignty, Leadership, and the Indian Citizenship Act Through February 2, 2025 On June 2, 1924, Congress enacted the Indian Citizenship Act, granting citizenship to American Indians born in the United States. In 1925, Spokane hosted the first American Indian Congresses, convening tribal leaders, government officials, and community members from around the United States to discuss rights and advocacy. 1924 commemorates this 100- year anniversary with a close-up look at how early local tribal leaders and their people navigated the challenges of being both U.S. citizens and citizens of their own sovereign nations.

Driving the American Dream: 1970s Car Design June 15–September 14, 2024 Car design changed dramatically in the 1970s, when the flamboyance and muscle of the 60s drove up against a far sterner, less prosperous decade. Watergate, fiscal stagnation, and the Carter-era energy crisis subdued the flare of the 60s, and cars of the 70s matched the times. Now, 50 years later, we can see these vehicles in a new light—as iconic beauties of a bygone era.
