Jett’s journey to professional driving started in a grocery warehouse. Like many others, he put in the time and effort to gain the experience needed to break into the industry. For him, driving was more than just a career – it was a family tradition. “My dad was a cattle hauler. He was always on the road, and I wanted to stay more local, but growing up... I guess I hit the jackpot, and I ended up being a driver like my dad. I enjoy it. Even though it might not be for everybody, it's for me.” THE LEGEND OF THE REFERRALS One of Jett’s first referrals was a former co-worker, DAVID LOPEZ , from a warehouse job. When David’s company shut down, Jett knew he had the perfect candidate. “He was a single father with three girls, so I immediately reached out to him,” Jett recalls. “I told him everything about Averitt – the benefits, the stability. I knew he was a hard-working guy who wouldn’t let me down.” Now, David currently works as a city driver for our Tampa service center.
