AAA BOND RATING AFFIRMED On July 17, 2024, the City of Chanhassen’s bond rating agency, Standard & Poor’s (S&P), once again affirmed Chanhassen’s ‘AAA’ bond rating with a stable outlook, meaning they do not expect the rating to change in the next two years. ‘AAA’ is the highest bond rating available to a municipality. The bond rating was evaluated for the city’s issuance of bonds for the Civic Campus project. Sustaining the AAA bond rating results in lower interest rates for the city and tax savings for residents.

2025 BUDGET AND LEVY WORK UNDERWAY City staff and the city council are currently working on the 2025 budget and levy. This includes several scheduled work sessions and the annual "Truth in Taxation" meeting on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Residents are invited to attend any of these meetings and contact the city for additional information.

As part of the general election on November 5, 2024, Chanhassen voters will consider a one-half percent (0.5%) local option sales tax to help finance the creation of the Chanhassen Bluffs Community Center. CHANHASSEN BLUFFS COMMUNITY CENTER PROPOSED PLAN The proposed 300,000 square foot facility is planned for the southeast corner of the Avienda development, at the intersection of Highway 212 and Powers Boulevard. Facility amenities being considered include: • Indoor walking track • Two sheets of ice • Ice arena doubles as multi-purpose venue space with a 3,500 seating capacity • Field house for basketball, soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball, volleyball, pickleball and more • Fitness studio (cardio & weights) • Community room spaces • Restaurant • Dance studio • Indoor playground
