In addition, water temperature plays an important role in the solubility of the ozone gas. The higher the water temperature, the lower its half-life or effectiveness, as shown in Table 2.

For ozone, a pH of 8.5 or lower is typical with a pH of 7.0 recommended. As organic matter increases the reaction time increases and the half-life of the ozone decreases. Inorganic matter can positively influence the reaction rate of ozone by acting as a scavenger for hydroxyl radicals. So as the concentration of inorganic carbon increases, i.e., the concentration of scavenger hydroxy radicals increases and the decay of ozone decreases.
