Anglia Ruskin - Assistant Director

The Role Assistant Director (Projects)

The Anglia Ruskin estate has been extensively redeveloped and expanded at all current campuses over the last 20 years. The university is now cited as a rising star within the sector and plans to continue to add new buildings in Chelmsford and extensively refurbish the existing estate in Cambridge and Peterborough. This role provides professional focus for the full range of building and property related works, achieving projects on time, to budget and to the highest quality standards.

The role will include responsibility for both low and high value capital and revenue works.

You should have managed projects of significant size (approximately £5 million plus) in refurbishment or adaptation and have significant experience in procuring and managing new build. It is necessary to travel on a regular basis between campuses and other sites where we are initiating projects. As a senior manager, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Estates and Facilities, including the organisation and management of the range of functions that are part of this professional service.

You’ll be required to lead the project team and act as the senior surveyor.

This role will require an experienced professional who can take charge of projects and deliver good results within tight deadlines. For this reason it is essential that you have a significant amount of experience in the delivery of major capital projects and have been directly involved in procurement processes.
