Day 8: Sofia Today is a free day. Day 9: Sofia - Plovdiv
Head east to Plovdiv, on the banks of the Maritsa River. Day 10: Plovdiv - Veliko Tarnovo - Arbanasi - Bucharest Spend time in the former Bulgarian capital of Veliko Tarnovo, located in the heart of Bulgaria. Later, travel to Arbanasi and enjoy free time before continuing across the Dabube into Bucharest. Day 11: Bucharest Enjoy a fascinating sightseeing tour by coach. Day 12: Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran - Brasov Head to Sinaia, and enjoy visits to the Monastery, Peles Castle and the ‘spine-chilling’ Bran Castle before travelling to nearby Brasov. Day 13: Brasov - Sighisoara Explore Brasov, fringed by the peaks of the southern Carpathian Mountains. Day 14: Sighisoara - Transylvania Visit the pretty medieval town of Sighisoara, a tranquil village nestled within stone city walls. Later, continue to the historic capital of Transylvania. Day 15: Transylvania Commence your journey west, crossing the border into Hungary and onto capital, Budapest. Day 16: Budapest Enjoy a full day to explore Budapest. Day 17: Budapest - Vienna Leave Budapest today and head towards Vienna, one of Europe’s great cities. Days 18-19: Vienna - Belgium Continue your journey north through the heart of the German countryside into Belgium. Day 19: Belgium - UK Arrive home today.
