items which were brought by different ones. Again, we see that the women as well as the men participated in this of fering. Let us all learn to worship God in our giving as well as in every other aspect of our lives. Helps for the Children Gifts for God’s House Ex. 35 Memory Verse: “Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord; whoso ever is of a willing heart, let him bring it” (Ex. 35-5). God had made plans for a place of worship, His house. Cloth, money, jewels, and other gifts were needed that God’s house might be a place of beauty. One day Moses gathered the people to gether and told them the things that were needed for their place of worship. After Moses had finished telling the things that would be needed, the people returned to their tents and thought of what they might have that could be used for God’s house. They brought bracelets, earrings, rings, jewels of gold, skins, cloth, wood, silver, and brass. The women spun lovely cloth. Willingly and joyfully the people worked for God’s house. God did not want gifts that were given grudgingly or because they were demanded of the people. He wanted them to bring their gifts because they wanted to share in His work. So great Moses had to tell the people there was too much; they must not bring any more! Have you heard of a church today where the minister had to tell the people to stop giving their gifts because there were too many? God still wants His people to give cheerfully and with hearts of love. He does not see the size of the gift as much as He sees the love of the giver. Perhaps you do not have much to give to God’s house in the way of money, but have you thought of giv ing a bit of your time each week to helping with the care of the church. Have you ever asked your pastor if there is something you might do to help him with his work? Have you offered to pick up the song books or dust the piano? Have you given the talents of singing or playing an instrument or leading a meeting that His house might be a place of true blessing to those who do not know your Lord? Many are the gifts that even a boy or girl can bring to God’s house today. Pray that you will cheerfully serve Him in the smallest ways that His house might be an honor to His name.
