blind, stumbling way to come to the true light and live on the square. How precious to bring some ray o f hope and promise to such a heart, and then to watch the gleam o f dawning hope spring into this poor, tired, discouraged face, as we point him to the only One who is “able” ; and as we reach our own home where peace and con tentment dwell, we find a bunch o f letters from the shut-ins at the “big house” in San Quentin. Among these alone we could com fortably spend all our time, just writing to the boys who are hungering and crying out in the deep need o f their souls which God has revealed to them. The needs are so many and the laborers, alas, so few ! Will you not pray the Lord o f the harvest to thrust forth? God is so willing and gracious to save, if we will only bring the message and keep on with all prayer and faith. At the close o f a recent meeting the devil was busy and faith grew weak at times, but there was one soul in that place almost per suaded. A prayer went up from one heart especially for that soul. It was “Lord, I \ \ T E think it can be said, without a * * moment’s hesitation, that the month just past has been the best month’s work we have ever done for the Master. It has been encouraging to see men, day after day, come to our blessed Saviour for sal vation, and then, too, to see them grow in the grace and knowledge o f our blessed Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. It is hard to choose from so many interesting incidents, but we will give you one from our noonday meeting, and one from the evening meeting. At one o f our noonday prayer meetings, a young man came in and stayed the whole meeting through. When approached about his soul he said, “ I used to be a Christian,

must have this soul today,” and then came the conflict in which the spirit passed under a cloud, but again came the cry, “Lord, I won’t leave till I do get one !” - This time the conflict was stronger and faith began to waver, but another look to jesus brought $till another cry, “Lord I will not leave if I have to stay here all night, until you give me this soul,” and then came victory. The lips began to tremble, the tears came into that strong man’s eyes, and the mighty struggle ended as the two strong, opposing forces contended for the final supremacy. The will yielded to the stronger Man, and kneeling there we had the joy o f knowing that that soul had passed from death unto life. W e might be able to te ll'o f many soul- stirring experiences gathered from mis sions, jails and even among the boys in grey at the “big house” at San Quentin, but space forbids. Please remember before God our boys, that in the gathering dark ness they may be kept shining more and more “ unto the perfect day.” but sins have come in and I am out o f fellowship, but I would like to get back to God.” It is needless to say that we showed him John 6 :37 and 1 John 1 :9, and he came baefe into the glorious light o f the Gospel o f Jesus ChristSnd is today walk ing in the fight as H e'is in the light, and is having fellowship. •,-i®he other incident was this: On the reading-room table we have a boflKthe title o f which is, “ The Unpardonable Sin.” A young man came in, and reading the heading o f this book, burst into tears and said, “ Can I buy that book? I ifrant to see if I have committed that sin.” W e talked to him and told him what the unpardonable! sin was, and that Jesus saidi ‘“ Him that cometh to me I
