Our student community Societies

We have many vibrant societies across the School and the University, which students can become members of. As a member you will be able to enhance your employability by getting involved inmooting and skills competitions, court visits, social events and volunteering activities . Our societies include: • LEX Student Law Society • New BlackSociety • Court Visit Association • Commercial Awareness Society • NTU Debating Society Find out more and how to get involved at www.trentstudents.org .

Mooting Mooting is perhaps the closest experience to appearing in court that you can have during your time at university. We recognise the importance of mooting in enhancing your future employability, and this is reflected in the creative ways in which we integrate it into course tasks. We’ve recently enjoyed success in Blackstone’s Criminal Advocacy Competition and the UK Law Students’ Association Mooting Competition, whilst two of our students were selected to compete at the International Chamber of Commerce and Mediation Competition in Paris. Our dedicated Mooting Club will help you to develop a wide range of intellectual and practical skills, as you build your confidence in public speaking, research and advocacy.

Prizegiving

The hard work and success of Nottingham Law School students is celebrated at an annual Prizegiving ceremony. In previous years this has been sponsored by Oxford University Press, Freeths (formerly Freeth Cartwright), and Shoosmiths.
