Phoenix Challenge Foundation Names Winners The Phoenix Challenge Foundation, a sup- porter of building flexo in education and building the workforce of tomorrow, has an- nounced the 2024 winners of the 17th Annual College Competition, which was held at the MacDermid’s Flexo Xperience Center in At- lanta, Georgia. This years top winners are: Overall Competition : CalPoly , San Luis Obispo, California Research, Graphics & Execution : RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) , Roches- ter, New York Concept : Illinois State University , Normal, Illinois Several teams from top universities in addition included Appalachian State Univer- sity, Clemson University and Toronto Metro University. The Phoenix Challenge Foundation, a 401(c3) non-profit volunteer organization, has exposed more than 6,000 students to the flexo community where more than 500 are working professionals across the industry. Entries are now being accepted for the 2024 AWA International Sleeve Label Awards – the competition which, for the last eight years, has an- nually documented the achievements that sleeve labeling has brought today’s packaging industry.
AWA Alexander Watson Associates’ website features details of the 2024 com- petition, including the entry form, which potential participants can access online here1. The entries remain open until Au- gust 31, 2024.
Entries will be accepted from printers/ converters and brand owners/end users which demonstrate quality and originality in the design, production, and end-use of all types of sleeve label. The AWA International Sleeve Label Awards feature four main cat- egories — heat shrink TD sleeve labels; roll-fed MD shrink sleeves; stretch sleeves; and a special category recognizing a notable environ- mental/ sustainability contribution. The winners of the AWA International Sleeve Label Awards will be presented at the AWA International Sleeve Label Conference & Exhibi- tion 2024, on October 17-18, in Miami, Florida.
