Chapter holds Virtual Wine Tasting event featuring selections created by In Good Taste Commercial Real Estate Women NJ toasts to new members & a brand new look!

To introduce its new look, educate prospective newmem- bers on the benefits of joining CREW NJ, and offer a wel- come break at the end of the work day, the chapter held a Virtual Wine Tasting event in October featuring selec- tions created by In Good Taste winery of Northern California. Who said all Zoom calls need to be boring? Chapter president Elisa Buckley of Walsh Environ- mental Solutions kicked off the evening by unveiling the new CREW NJ logo, thanking the 2020 board of directors and sponsors, and introducing the

group’s upcoming events. These have included educational webinars on various industry topics; virtual white paper dis- cussions, leadership and pro- fessional development series, yoga classes, coffee meetups, and happy hours; and more re- cently, small, in-person hikes. Public relations co-chair Therese O’Brian of New- mark Associates then in- troduced how members can leverage CREW Network’s CREWBiz website for career success by creating business and speaker profiles, partici- pating in industry discussion threads and open forums, and accessing industry resources available exclusively to CREW members. Membership chair Erica Godun of Ware Malcomb finished up the “business” por- tion of the event by explaining the group’s sponsorship oppor- tunities, membership specials and program discounts offered to both new and existing mem- bers for 2021. These include getting the rest of 2020 with a new 2021 membership and an extended renewal grace period for existing members who have lost a job due to the pandemic. Once the membership pre- sentations were over, it was time to switch gears and turn everyone’s living rooms into tasting rooms! Bubbly and knowledgeable wine expert Chelsie Petras introduced In Good Taste’s “Wild Child Flight” of wines that were pre-delivered to each of the 40 attendees’ homes. Chelsie guided the group through the nuances of the tasting process, related fun facts, and pointed out both traditional and “wild” food pairings (e.g., pizza dipped in ranch) for each wine. Members and prospects enjoyed relating their own wine stories, preferences and opinions on the selections. Several expressed that it was the best Zoom event they had ever attended! CREW NJ will continue to provide its members with en- gaging programming, valuable business networking, profes- sional development, leadership opportunities, and elevated connections both locally and across the globe. EW JERSEY — While 2020 brought many unwe l c ome

events, the Commercial Real Estate Women NJ (CREW NJ) chapter of the CREW Network found unique ways to keep moving forward as the premier networking organiza- tion promoting the advance- ment of women in the industry. One tangible way CREW NJ demonstrated its ability to adapt during the global pan- demic was through its recent rebranding effort, which was chosen to align with that of the global, 12,000-member CREW Network.
