It could be argued, of course, that as a genuinely inclusive venue, there should be no need for a brochure dedicated exclusively to specific groups and individuals. This is a point that can justifiably be made, but I believe that there is a need to demonstrate that inclusivity is more than just a word to everyone at the Mandolay. Inclusivity is a key part of our values, and while we can easily point to our many years of supporting Pride Events, locally and nationally, we can also show our published Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity Policies, created at a time when such initiatives were rarely available. About the Mandolay With our eight wedding spaces, the Mandolay oers an almost infinite wealth of choices; from the intimate surroundings of our Oak Suite to the majestic scale of the Mandolay Suite, we can comfortably host events from 12 to 500 guests. Whatever the size and style of your day, our service never alters. We aim for perfection and deliver the exceptional.

Should you wish to do us the privilege of hosting your ceremony here at the Mandolay, we will work with you to make sure that there is not a single missed step. Our wedding spaces are licensed for ceremonies of up to 500 guests and we can oer indoor or outdoor options. As with everything, it is your day to enjoy, celebrate and share.
The Gazebo Lawn Unique in Guildford and oering the final word in ‘blank canvas’ potential, our Gazebo is set amidst manicured lawns and gently shaded by mature trees. The area is a natural suntrap, delivering the quintessential English wedding in the heart of town.

Time to Celebrate The Mandolay Suite – our newest and most striking indoor space is pillar free and capable of hosting a wedding breakfast for 300 and an evening reception for 500 guests. Quite simply, there is no similar venue in Surrey. Designed with sensational in mind, this suite delivers a completely self-contained venue for the ultimate celebration; grand in scale yet retaining an atmosphere that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Your guests will experience the wow of a dramatic entrance to the suite, beneath the stunning chandelier and on through the oak and glass double doors, the scale of the room never fails to impress even when empty, but when sumptuously decorated to your personal request… Stand back and listen to the gasps of delight.
A Photograph for All the Ages Even more historic than the Mandolay, the 11 th Century Guildford Castle remains a wonderfully picturesque part of ‘Secret Guildford’, with gardens oering a secluded and stunningly colourful backdrop for those very special photographs. Just five minutes from the hotel, you might wish to ‘divert’ the wedding party for a few moments whilst guests enjoy a welcome drink at the hotel.
Because the Night was Made for Dancing
The evening reception. A time to relax and for your guests to let their hair down and dance like nobody is watching. As ever, it is your night and our resident DJ will play your selections from first dance to dance floor fillers; the music that is important to you, perhaps played to evoke memories of special times together or to remember absent friends. Keep the evening with an elaborate buet or enjoy toasted rolls at midnight and perhaps even a little nightcap for those who wish.
And so, to Bed… Inclusive of our Ultimate Wedding Package our Signature Honeymoon Suite will have been available to you since the day before the celebration for all those last-minute details and arrangements, setting yourselves up for the big day ahead with a full English breakfast. On the day itself, you’ll have awoken fresh from a great night’s sleep having snuggled down under Egyptian cotton, perhaps making use of the corner bath to luxuriate, enveloped in complimentary Molton Brown bubbles.
Your guests will be oered a range of room types at preferential rates and you can be assured that they will be attended to in a style that is second to none.

At once comfortable and elegant, the Bar at the Mandolay oers an array of choices for even the most discerning guests and patrons. Speciality Gin, Vodka and Cocktail menus indicate a real point of dierence to traditional hotel bars; indeed, our entire oering sets us apart from anything else in the area. We believe in a principle of ‘Drink Less, Drink Better’ and encourage premium brands and perfect presentation over a more inclusive standard as indicated by our choice of Stoli Vodka and Star of Beefeater Gin as our house pours. Fever Tree mixers provide the perfect accompaniment, and all our long drinks are presented to your preference. By day a range of fine teas and Nespresso coees are complemented by a full menu featuring light snacks, nibbles and hearty lunch options, all served at the bar or on our heated terrace.

Are you licensed for civil ceremonies?
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue? 7:00am. What time does the reception need to nish? 1:00am (Last song 12:50am). Do you have a late licence? Yes. We are able to host till 1:00am. Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band? Live music is restricted at 10pm out of consideration for our residential neighbours, given our location as a town centre venue. Do you have a sound limiter? Yes, a 110db limiter. All sound is controlled via the hotel sound system, no outside speakers are permitted. Are reworks allowed? No, they are not permitted. Is confetti allowed? Biodegradable confetti is allowed outdoors.
Can we have a small, ceremonial re on our Mandap for our Indian ceremony? Yes. Our past couples have performed the ceremony in the Mandolay Suite or on the Surrey Suite Terrace for a more intimate gathering. Can the courtyard/garden/ terrace be used after nightfall? No, due to our residential area once it’s nightfall our Gazebo Lawn and Surrey Suite Terrace are not accessible. Do you have smoking areas? Although we are a non-smoking hotel you are permitted at the front of the hotel.
Yes, we have four licensed spaces at the hotel, including our Gazebo Lawn. The Mandolay Suite can host up to 500 guests with the next largest venue being Guildford Cathedral. Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors? Certainly! Our licensed area, situated at our Gazebo Lawn, accommodates a maximum of 180 individuals. Is there accommodation on site? We have 78 tastefully appointed bedrooms all fully equipped to meet the needs of even the most discerning guests. Is there a Honeymoon or Bridal suite? The Signature Suite has been specifically crafted to be an exclusive component of our Ultimate Wedding Package. Additionally, this suite is available for rent with all Wedding Packages, oering amenities such as a makeup and hair area, soaking tub, and air conditioning. Is there additional accommodation nearby? Our Wedding Specialist can oer information about additional nearby venues in the vicinity.

Can we use our own caterers? Yes, full Dry Hire Packages are available. Do you allow outside catering? Absolutely! We oer the opportunity to host your wedding with our Dry Hire Package. Get in touch with our Wedding Specialist to explore the advantages of our Dry Hire Wedding Packages. Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine? Our Wedding Packages are inclusive of wine service, however, should you prefer your own wine, our Dry Hire package might be most suitable. How many people can you t on your round tables? Our 6 foot round tables have a capacity of up to 12 individuals, with an optimal seating arrangement for 8 to 10 people. Can we have banqueting style set up for our wedding breakfast? Yes, of course. Our Wedding Specialist can discuss dierent layout options for our event suites.

There are several churches in the area and our Wedding Specialist can review options. Where is the closest registry oce? Yes, there is limited car parking on site and also 1,000 spaces within a 10-minute walk of the hotel. Our Wedding Specialist can provide a car parking map of Guildford to share with your guests.
Are candles allowed? Certainly! Tealights enclosed in votive holders are allowed. Do you permit Dhol drums inside the venue? Yes, we do!
