Celebrating 18 Years of CHABAD OF THE TRI VALLEY

PROGRAM GUIDE FALL 5784 / 2023

Dear friends, supporters, and community members, Eighteen years ago, we embarked on a remarkable journey of building a Jewish center in the Tri Valley. With your steadfast dedication and unwavering support we have indeed created a thriving Jewish community; a place where young and old alike celebrate our rich heritage together. As we reflect on this miraculous journey, we acknowledge and celebrate the past growth and accomplishments and eagerly look forward to the opening of the newly renovated Chabad Center for Jewish Life. None of these achievements would have been possible without the passion, commitment, and love that each member of our community has contributed. To the donors, volunteers, organizers, and all the individuals who selflessly give their resources, time, and energy to Chabad - thank you. The number 18 in Hebrew, “chai,” symbolizes the blessing of life. As we approach this new year, may G-d bless us with a year of “chai” - a meaningful

and joy-filled year of life. L’chaim! Rabbi Raleigh and Fruma Resnick Rabbi Josh and Chavie Zebberman

Let’s build the new Chabad Center for Jewish Life

SYNAGOGUE Our renovated sanctuary is designed to inspire grandeur, connectivity, and warmth. With newly created natural lighting and a custom-crafted ark, bimah, and synagogue furnishings, this space will invite our community to congregate in joy and with pride. OUTDOOR EVENT & SUKKAH PLAZA Adorned with olive trees and decomposed granite, our 5000 sq. ft. grand plaza will be a centerpiece of our center and a destination to celebrate holidays, joyous milestones, and Jewish life. KOSHER KITCHEN FACILITY Our upgraded commercial kitchen and prep-area will be a wellspring for weekly fresh challah sales, holiday & shabbat feasts, NY deli nights, and community dinners.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CENTER

The new state-of-the-art Gan Chabad Preschool will include 3 classrooms, each created to bring in the natural outdoor environment. Our architects have designed a multi-sensory playground surrounded by the trees of Israel (date, fig, olive, grape, and pomegranate). MIKVA Our exquisite new mikva immersion pool and preparation space will be the very first in the Tri Valley and an inviting oasis for Jewish women in holy moments of rejuvenation. LIBRARY & HOLOCAUST EDUCATION CENTER A spacious rich room lined with bookcases and Jewish art. In addition to a home of Jewish study, our library will also feature over 1000 holocaust titles and a unique research access portal to USC’s Shoa Foundation.
