Both founders arrived at Seasafe from successful but very different professional paths. Chad had spent more than two decades in site-built construction, while Mike brought entrepreneurial and operational experience from previous ventures. Their partnership began unexpectedly— through church and international mission work. “We traveled together to Papua New Guinea and the Philippines before we ever started a company,” Chad explains. “We barely knew each other at the time, but that trip shaped how we think about business and purpose.” Their first venture together was a finance company supporting builders and real estate investors. But when hurricanes struck their own coastal communities in 2024, priorities shifted. “We realized housing resilience wasn’t just a market opportunity,” Chad says. “It was a responsibility.” The company was built around a guiding principle that still defines it today: 20 percent of net profits are dedicated to ministry and humanitarian initiatives. “You get a lot more fulfillment making an impact in people’s lives than just making money,” Chad explains. “We want the work we do to matter beyond the homes themselves.” From Mission Trip to Mission-Driven Company
