MODULAR MOVEMENT EDITION | BAM SOUTH

Working With Custom at Scale

Many modular builders rely on fixed designs. Wind River has taken a different approach.

“People were coming to us with unique designs… sometimes working with their own architects, sometimes bringing something they had already been thinking about for a while,” Pyke says. “So we had to figure out how to take that and actually make it work in a modular environment without losing what they were trying to do.” That shift required a more defined process on the front end, moving projects through concepting, engineering, and design decisions before anything enters production. “We spend a lot of time upfront getting everything figured out,” he says. “All the details, all the decisions—so by the time we get to final price and contract, there aren’t surprises later on.” That level of coordination carries into the interior, where details define how a space ultimately feels once complete.
