SEKO - Global Policies & Employee Handbook 2019

4.12 What are SEKO’s Standards of Professional Conduct? As a SEKO employee, how are you expected to act? Employees are expected to act in a professional and responsible manner while on SEKO property, while conducting SEKO business off SEKO property (including at business social functions), while traveling in connection with SEKO business - and at all other times where SEKO employees, clients, vendors or other persons having business relationships with SEKO are present. Each and every one of us represents SEKO in our daily dealing with employees, clients, vendors and other persons having business relationships with SEKO. Therefore, we strive to consistently present an image of professionalism, courtesy, respect, integrity and discretion.

The following and related types of misconduct are prohibited including, but not limited to:

(i) Falsifying employment eligibility or other employment on SEKO’s records; (ii) Soliciting or accepting non-promotional and/or expensive items from customers or clients; (iii) Excessive absenteeism or tardiness; (iv) Excessive, unnecessary, or unauthorized use of SEKO’s supplies, particularly for personal purposes; (v) Reporting to work intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, and the illegal manufacture, possession, use, sale, distribution or transportation of drugs (for purposes of this policy, “under the influence” is defined as a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or greater); (vi) Bringing or using alcoholic beverages on SEKO property, or using alcoholic beverages while engaged in SEKO business off SEKO premises, except where authorized; (vii) Fighting or using obscene, abusive, or threatening language or gestures;

(viii) Theft of property from coworkers or customers of SEKO; (ix) Unauthorized possession of firearms on SEKO premises or while on SEKO business; (x) Disregarding safety or security regulations; (xi) Insubordination; (xii) Dishonesty; (xiii) Failing to maintain the confidentiality of SEKO, customer or client information; (xiv) Misuse of SEKO business machines, e-mail and/or the Internet for non-job related purposes; (xv) Failure to foster collegiality, harmony, positive attitude, and good relations in the workplace; (xvi) Failure to uphold SEKO’s Core Values; and (xvii) Failure to uphold SEKO’s FCPA Policy.

The above are only examples of common sense rules which experience has shown to be necessary and most effective in maintaining sound working relationships. They are only typical of cases which can result in disciplinary action up to and including termination, and are not to be construed as limiting or restricting disciplinary action to only the specific cases listed.
