F itwize 4 Kids knows how integral promoting health and fitness is, especially for our youth. The children’s healthy lifestyle center offers an after-school program, tumbling and mini gym classes, summer camps, girls’ confidence programs, and various clubs focused on running, gardening, and community outreach. Each of Fitwize 4 Kids’ programs incorporates physical activities, charitable opportunities, and monthly themes centered on character education.
“Fitwize 4 Kids is unique in that we understand living a healthy lifestyle does not just mean working out and eating healthy, but also includes being a person of good character and giving back to those less fortunate,” said Karen Mitchell, Owner and Operator. The center exemplifies this by offering community service opportunities, such as working at food banks, packing literacy backpacks for low-income students, running bake sales for a variety of causes and supporting the Loudoun County Public Schools Backpack Buddy program. Participating in these programs gives children the chance to see how they can make a difference, and hopefully they carry this sentiment into adulthood. Depending on the time of year, Fitwize 4 Kids employs 15 to 25 people, including several managers who run day-to-day activities. Meanwhile, high
school students and young adults assist and help run classes. “Fitwize 4 Kids’ staff is a family, and we consider all our customers part of that family. We develop strong relationships with all the children and families who attend Fitwize and have staff members who began their Fitwize journey in elementary school and are now employees.” St. John Properties helped Fitwize 4 Kids customize their space to best fit their needs. The building boasts a lobby, kitchen area, large gym, and multiple bathrooms. St. John Properties’ interior construction team installed special athletic flooring indoors, and outside, they installed a fenced-in area for play. “St. John Properties is very responsive to needs or challenges that may arise throughout the year,” said Mitchell. “They are always quick to ensure the parking lots are treated during the winter for the safety of our customers
and are very communicative and check in regularly with their tenants.”
