After high school, she left home to enroll in the nursing program at ETCM Hospital in Karnataka State, India. She completed her nursing degree and went on to work as a nurse there, then several years in a cancer center after that. In 1976 she moved here to the US and married, had 2 children, and now has 4 grandchildren. Over the years, she has worked as an RN in various hospital departments such as Med-Surgical, Orthopedic, Oncology and Progressive Care Unit. She completed the BSN, MSN and NP programs, then went on to working in Pulmonology, Infectious Disease and Outpatient Cardiology. She has experience working for several years under service of hospitalist. At this time Mrs. Mathew works as an ARNP at Avalon Medical Walk-In Clinic, performing various procedures and effectively treating a variety of medical problems with patience and compassion. She is efficient with wound care, minor incisions and drainage, joint injections, administering IV fluid and phlebotomy. Mrs. Mathew is of strong Christian faith and enjoys spending time reading, following politics and participating in church activities.
