The Women’s 18-Hole Golf Organization (WGO-18) ladies once again celebrated the end of their successful year at a member’s lovely home in December. Each year during the Holiday Season, WGO-18 members contribute to the Washington, DC, Homeless Children’s Playtime Project in lieu of sharing gifts. The Playtime Project was founded in 2003 and continues to serve the homeless children of the Metropolitan area. The number of homeless children has reached 300 and sadly the numbers are growing. Through the compassion and generosity of the WGO-18 members this year, the Playtime Project received $2,850 which sponsored 57 homeless children! WGO-18: WOMEN’S 18 HOLE GOLF ORGANIZATION
Although many WGO-18 members are playing throughout the winter and organizing friendly games, we are all looking forward to the coming of the spring when play begins in earnest! If you would like to join anytime during the winter to be ready for the season start in late March/early April, please contact Membership Chair Ruth Daly at ruthadaly@verizon.net. Play Days are generally Tuesdays in Arlington and Fridays in Fairfax.
