Albany Country Club

Manager’s Message

This time of year shows off Albany Country Club at its best – busy and full of members making lifelong memories. The weather may not have acted like spring, but we still had plenty of golfers on the course and sold - out events in the clubhouse. As we begin to open the tennis courts and pool, we are heading into a summer that promises to be our busiest for many years. Our exciting tennis news is that we have begun the conversion of courts 5 and 6 to asphalt to give us more flexibility and increased use. We expect to have these finished by the end of June. We ’ ve completed the seasonal re - conditioning on the Har - Tru for courts 2, 3 and 4; and Shannon has a full calendar of tennis activities for members of all ages, from toddlers on up to men ’ s and women ’ s competitive and social events. We hope you will join us on the evening of June 3rd for a poolside pizza party and summer activity sign up. This event will give you an opportunity to learn about, and sign up for, our summer activities, including golf, tennis and summer camps and Swim Team. Kids have no excuse to be bored this summer at ACC! While the unexpectedly cooler weather has caused us to move around some of our projects on the golf course, we are in excellent shape after core aerification and fertilization programs. The drainage work done in the spring has proven its worth during the recent rains, and Marcus has been meeting with our architect and Green Committee to finalize the drainage plans for the rest of the year. Although hiring continues to be a challenge for all local businesses, we believe we have finally gotten the staff we need for the course maintenance team … just in time for a very busy summer! PGA Junior League starts its new season with a great team of juniors; and we ’ re excited about this year ’ s Friday Night Opens which will include a mix of creative golf games one Friday each month throughout the summer; plus, Tee for Three returns. This introductory league for women meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm through the end of June. Women also have the Spring Handicap and the Play for PINK fundraiser, while men have the President ’ s Plaque Year Long Individual Tournament, William Walsh Four - Ball on Memorial Day, Men ’ s Guest Day, Father ’ s Day Tournament, and the Robert Trent Jones Cup. All golfers can enjoy the Longest Day on June 18th, and the RTJ Mixed Match Play all summer. Social events for the summer include continuing our popular Prime Rib Dinner Nights and our traditional Independence Day celebration with fireworks on July 3rd. So that we may always be prepared to serve our members, please continue to make reservations for dining and social events online, through our mobile app, or by calling. Summer is a time when we all bring more guests, please remind them in advance about our Dress Code in all areas of the Club so that we can continue to keep ACC the elegant and gracious retreat you expect and deserve.

We are excited to debut our new lounge chairs and cocktail tables at the pool during our official Grand Opening on Memorial Day weekend and we ’ re sure you ’ ll have lots of opportunities to enjoy them.

As you can see from the next page, we continue to have many new members joining the ACC family, so please take a moment to get to know them and be sure to say hello when you see them. Let's keep ACC the friendly and welcoming place we all know it is. We hope you will bring your friends and other prospects out to the Club this summer and help them get a membership of their very own! Our best referrals are our own happy members, and Sara - Becca is ready and waiting to help them.

I appreciate your love of Albany Country Club and ongoing commitment to our success. Thank you for your membership and enjoy the summer! As always, if there is anything I can do to help, do not hesitate to contact me.
