PR Partnership, Customer For 30 Years You can set your watch. The first Monday in February, 1:00 at the Burwell Livestock Market, same spot, lower seats, north west corner. Through ice storms, snow, and fog, for 30 consecutive years, a representative for the Peterson family’s PR Partnership has made the trip from Gothenburg, Nebraska, to attend the Mike Sitz and Joel Johnston Bull Sale. Thirty years and 92 bulls later, we asked Paul why they continue to come back year after year. Paul’s wife, Shannon, quipped, “Because he likes the donuts!” Paul replied, “Really, your bulls went to work and stayed in condition when the other bulls fell apart. When we pulled those first bulls off the cows, your bulls still looked decent.” While on the judging team at the University of Nebraska, Welcome! We appreciate the interest you have in our Bull Sale. Take a look at the sale offering, compare, and see what our program has to offer. Feel free to call if you have any questions, or to visit the ranch to view the bulls and the cows. Be sure to check out the DVAuction videos. We look forward to seeing you Monday, February 2, 2026 at Burwell. Come for lunch! The Sitz and Johnston Families

Drs. Gosey and Doane influenced Paul with their common- sense approach to evaluating cattle. As Paul said, “Those two guys had a lot of sense, and I learned a lot of practical things from them.” Paul’s education played a major part in his search for bulls to use on PR’s expanding cow herd. Dr. Gosey mentioned the qualities of a certain Angus sire, DHD Traveler 6807, and Paul started a search for a breeder with that bloodline. In 1996 the Petersons came upon Mike Sitz’s sale listing 6807 as a sire. They purchased their first two 6807 sons that year, beginning the thirty consecutive years purchasing bulls at Mike and Joel’s annual sale. Because the Petersons finish out their own calves, they also need to balance a quality carcass with a functional cow herd. Paul added, “The bulls always worked for us, the genetics fit our mentality. We liked the way they were developed and were fault free. The cows are functional, and aren’t big. They are good cattle that feed good and grade good.” In December of 2024 Petersons collected the following data on their MSAR / JJA influenced cattle: On 424 head: • 98.6% Graded Choice or better • 58% Graded CAB • 11.8% Graded Prime • Only 1.4% were Select Peter Robert Peterson, the first owner of the PR brand, traveled from Illinois to Lincoln County, Nebraska with his wife and family, settling on the northern slope of the Platte River Valley in 1898. One hundred years later, the PR Partnership was formed with Page and Karen, Paul and Shannon, and their parents, Larry and Carolyn. Today, the PR brand continues to the fifth generation with Pat and Evan, and Evan’s wife Savannah.
