Friday February 5, 2024, the Orient of the Bahamas presented it 2024 scholarship recipient Alexanderia Culmer with a check to further her studies at the University of the Bahamas.
Jackson, Michigan (he is the first African American mayor in the city’s history), and SP Jimmie Wilson Jr was able to help secure a multi-million dollar funding as their State Rep.
Alexandria Culmer was a part of the inaugural University of the Bahamas Jump Start Program launched for Family Island Students. This program enrolled qualified 12th Grade students like her in university-level classes while she was completing her 12th grade year at Central Eleuthera High School. She is a 2023 graduate who is a recipient of the Bahamas National High School with Honours and is a Member of the National Honours Society. Additionally, she received National Honors for her outstanding BJC results in 2020 and has successfully sat 12 Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) Examination. Alexandria is majoring in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Spanish to become a Pediatric Cardiologist.
Saginaw Valley #71 stayed extremely busy and impactful within their community and area. They hosted and led their Annual Renewal and Remembrance Service, supported by Peninsular #44, where they were able to pay homage and respect to the Families of their fallen brethren. One of the Families in attendance was the Family of SGIG Michael H. Jordan.
The Ladies of the Order of Golden Circle had an extremely progressive and impactful few months. The Michigan Grand Assembly Order of the Golden Circle Auxilary of A.A.S.R.-PHA honored the Past State Grand Loyal Lady Rulers at a Scholarship Luncheon. They were graced by Guest Speaker SGIG Daniel R. Poole, who highlighted the great work they have been doing since 1982.
