The Spring Bulletin 2024

After the conclusion of the FECOD and the USC 142nd Annual Session held in Denver, Colorado, members remained actively involved in Scottish Rite activities throughout the year. The following is a brief overview. • Members supported the USC's Making a Difference (M.A.D.) Program by participating in the Great Cycling Challenge and raising $538 for the Children's Cancer Research Fund. • Fraters of the Far East helped compose the Northern Jurisdiction, PHA delegation that attended the United Supreme Council, 33º, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Prince Hall Affiliation, Southern Jurisdiction, USA, 137th Annual Session in Huntsville, Alabama from October 6 – 10, 2023. • SGIG Dr. Dwayne E. Thomas, 33º, USC Education and Development Department Director, GIG Gary Smith, 33º, and other members of the Orient participated in “The Moving Camp Podcast.” This is a “first of its kind” initiative for the USC. The podcast is a creative and engaging means to promote Scottish Rite education amongst the membership and enhance the Scottish Rite Experience. • Members of Keystone Consistory No. 85, Valley of Okinawa, donated over $400 in Christmas gifts to an Okinawa Orphanage to support a collaborative community relations event with the Prince Hall Masonic bodies on Okinawa. Keystone’s contributions also contributed to the USC M.A.D. program.

• Additionally, the Consistory collected and delivered assorted candies to local orphanages, a children’s daycare facility in Nago City, Okinawa, and single mothers for Valentine's Day. This is a yearly endeavor led by Valley Overseer SGIG Ervin M.C. White, 33º. This year they were able to positively impact over 250 children and mothers.

• On January 27, 2024, SGIG Lee and SGIG Terence Jackson, 33°, Orient of Colorado, attended a Princes and Peers Banquet for Sunshine City Consistory No. 147, Orient of Florida. This Scottish Rite body is subordinate to the USC, 33º, AASR, PHA, SJ, USA, under the leadership of Sovereign Grand Commander Dr. Corey D. Hawkins, Sr., 33º. Both Lee and Jackson provided closing comments to those in attendance.

Although our members are dispersed overseas and in the continental United States, we continue to find ways to be actively involved and engaged in the work of the Scottish Rite. Our 54th FECOD is scheduled for March 24th and 25th, 2024, in the Republic of South Korea. We expect it to be an outstanding occasion and another opportunity to fellowship with one another.
