Representatives, the Franklin County Prosecutor, and the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The Columbus Team will conduct our annual voter ‘s forum in October 2024 and partner with other organizations to help increase the visibility of the team and do a voter registration drive. Springfield Team — On Thursday, February 8, 2024, at our Order of the Eastern Star meeting in Chillicothe, the importance of the upcoming voting in March’s primary was stressed. At the Chillicothe NAACP meeting on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, concerning the upcoming election, voter registration was heavily stressed to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. who attended the Delta Foundation Luncheon Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Columbus. They assisted with the League of Women Voters by having a registration table at Ohio University. On Friday, February 9, 2024, it was also stressed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on the importance about the primaries trying to make Southern Ohio aware. Toledo Team — In October 2023, LL LaVera Scott spoke at the League of Women’s Voters and Women for Democracy. In November 2023, GIG Keith McWhite 33° organized Roll to the Polls on Wednesday November 1, 2023. Poll Workers for November elections included LL Tanya Roach, SGLLR Charlesena Smith, Dt. Toiya Coffee, Commandress Dianne Johnson (Mecca Court 73), Sis. Clerissa Criswell. LL Scott does voter awareness and education on a radio slot on WIMX 97.5 FM radio biweekly. In January 2024, LL Roach shared voter education information for the upcoming primary elections. LL LaVera Scott did voter education at Zablocki Senior Center. Cleveland Team — On Monday, February 19, 2024, the Four Symbolic Lodges in Cleveland, and the Ohio Council of Deliberation partnered with the Divine 9, the NAACP, and other community social organizations to hold a Cuyahoga County-wide Candidates Night. In attendance were the Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master (GIG) Maurio D. Powell and Sister (LL) Jewel R. Showers, Grand Associate Conductress, Amaranth Grand Chapter. The overall agenda was to provide the candidates an opportunity to state their positions on matters that directly affect the Black community, while addressing some miscommunicated topics, (i.e., sentencing, arraignments, community control). Overall, approximately. 100 concerned citizens of Cuyahoga Citizen filled the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Upcoming events include “Roll to the Polls” on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with a 2 p.m. departing from the Lodge in Cleveland.

Columbus Team — The team held a Prince Hall 3rd Masonic District Voters Awareness Forum on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. This forum focused on local candidates running for various elected office including Mayor, City Council, School Boards, and Township trustees here in Franklin County. Both candidate forums were live via Zoom. Also, these two forums were recorded and broadcast live on the Vote Awareness Ohio Facebook page for the community and our Masonic members to view or review at their pleasure. Typically, the Columbus Voter Awareness Committee hosts candidate forums for those running for elected office in the Spring primary. However, in the spring 2023 there were no contested primary races last year and all candidates running automatically advanced to the fall election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Furthermore, the team partnered with the Columbus League of Women Voters and the Ohio Unity Coalition to put on the Wednesday, October 25 voters forum. Furthermore, from August 5 – 8 during the 174th Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio. The team had a voter registration/election information booth set-up. The objective for our booth was to educate our Masonic members of the importance of voting and the two statewide ballot initiatives on the ballot that fall. Also, during the 174th Annual Grand Communication, the Ohio Unity Coalition was able to stop the event with the Black Vote Matters Touring Bus to help educate people about voting, so that members attending Grand Communication could take pictures and talk to Black Vote Matters volunteers about the importance of voting. In 2024 the team held our annual Spring Primary Candidates Forum on February 21 and February 28. These two candidate forums will focus on three contested primary races — Ohio House of
