Renewable Natural Gas (Energy Infrastructure Investment) - FAILED (AARP Supported an amendment & opposed the bill)
House Bill 683, by Representative Yeager (companion Senate Bill 480, by Senator DiCeglie). The legislation would have amended section 366.075, Florida Statutes. The legislation would have created a new cost recovery mechanism modeled after the storm protection plan structure. It would have allowed the Florida Public Service Commission to approve a return on investment for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and for the costs of specified capital investments and infrastructure projects. AARP was OPPOSED to this legislation as it would have significantly increased monthly electric bills for residential rate payers across the state.
