House Bill 1203, by Representatives Esposito & Anderson (companion Senate Bills 7044 & 7046, by Regulated Industries and House Bill 1243, by Representative Porras). The legislation amends chapters 468. and 720., Florida Statutes, effective July 1, 2024. The legislation enhances regulations on homeowners' associations (HOAs), community association managers, and management firms and sets specifics for official record maintenance and director education. It addresses the governance of homeowners’ associations and the training of community association managers who manage such communities. Additionally, it requires greater transparency related official records of the association, ensures members are able to inspect records and expands criminal penalties for fraudulent voting activities.
