Structure and Walls
Roofing, Insulation and Weatherproofing
Load-bearing structure: lightweight Poroton clay-block masonry with reinforced concrete foundations and hollow clay-block floor slabs with timber beams. Internal structures: similar masonry to external walls; elegant self- supporting steel and timber staircases. Partition walls: hollow clay-block partitions (8 and 10 cm), pre-mixed plaster finish.
Roof: pitched, ventilated and insulated, finished with beautifully aged terracotta tiles. Insulation and weatherproofing: 4mm polyester membranes and 4-6cm insulation panels; ventilated crawl space beneath ground floor.
Finishes
Decorative treatments: exterior quartz paint, enamel on metalwork, interior washable paint, plasterboard ceilings with integrated LED lighting.
Natural stone: elegant 3cm travertine window sills and thresholds.
Floors and wall coverings: porcelain stoneware flooring (various formats), ceramic bathroom tiles; 2m-height tiling in bathrooms, 160cm kitchen worktop.
