B. Faculty Standing 1. Instructor The title of instructor is given to Word of Life staff members who teach a course(s), but that teaching is not a part of his/her regular responsibilities. 2. Adjunct Faculty Adjunct Faculty members are those who teach but are not full-time staff with Word of Life Bible Institute. 3. Assistant Professor The title of Assistant Professor is given to faculty members whose regular responsibilities involve teaching and who meet the following qualifications: a. Possession of a Master’s degree in an appropriate major. b. Evidence of the possession of those qualities of character, personality, and competence expected in a teacher and advisor of students. c. Evidence of effective communication in writing and public speaking. 4. Associate Professor The title of Associate Professor is given to faculty members whose regular responsibilities involve teaching and who meet the following qualifications: a. Possession of a Master’s degree in an appropriate major and at least eight years of teaching experience or possession of a doctorate and at least five years of teaching experience. b. Evidence of the possession of those qualities of character, personality, and competence expected in a teacher and advisor of students. c. Evidence of effective communication in writing and public speaking. 5. Professor The title of Professor is given to faculty members whose regular responsibilities involve teaching and who meet the following qualifications: a. Has taught for ten years or more. b. Possession of a Doctorate in an appropriate major. c. Evidence of the possession of those qualities of character, personality, and competence expected in a teacher and advisor of students. d. Evidence of effective communication in writing and public speaking. 6. Distinguished Professor The title of Distinguished Professor is given to faculty members whose regular responsibilities involve teaching and who meet the following qualifications: a. Has taught for twenty-five years or more. b. Possession of a Doctorate in an appropriate major. c. Evidence of the possession of those qualities of character, personality, and competence expected in a teacher and advisor of students. d. Evidence of effective communication in writing and public speaking. e. Has been approved by the board to receive this title.
