COMMERCIAL FEMALES
SATURDAY | APRIL 27 |1:00 PM
Many of the females selling are mates to the steers harvested in 2023 that graded 84% Choice and Prime with a yield grade of 2.6 and did 23% CAB. We think that is impressive and a testament to the quality present in this offering of commercial females and to our relentless pursuit of excellence in both our registered and our commercial beef production. We continue to utilize all tools available to give our customers the edge when it comes to beef production. You will note that a portion of these females are selling AI’d to some of the top calving ease, big performing bulls the Brangus breed has to offer. Bulls that are proven in the pasture and on the rail. They will be calving in a narrow window and the resulting offspring will perform. The sires
utilized all have genomically enhanced EPDs and generations of data behind them. This is just another way to provide you with the advantage. We are proud of the commercial females in this offering and feel they will be a long-lasting asset generating increased productivity for their new owners. While we are intent on providing the new owners with truly superior calves at side resulting from our matings, we encourage you to castrate the male calves because, while superior to industry norms, they do not have the generations of registered data behind them necessary to move our industry forward and to compete with other protein sources for today’s consumer dollar.
HOW THEY WILL SELL
Heifers will be sorted into uniform groups by pregnancy status and type/kind and penned at the sale site in pens ranging in number from 5 to 10 head. We will video the cattle as a group and will show that video as that pen of cattle is being sold. The cattle will not be run through the ring but, as stated earlier, most can be viewed at the sale site prior to the sale in their pen. We will produce a sale order for cattle selling and each group will be split into several pens . As each group comes up for sale we will sell
the first pen and the winning bidder will have, at the discretion of the sale personnel and auctioneer, the right to purchase the next pen of cattle in that group and each succeeding pen of cattle in that group until that group is sold. If the purchaser does not take the option to buy the next pen of cattle that group will be sold and, at our discretion, that buyer will be given an option until that group is sold and we proceed onto the next group of females.
