If you wish to loadout at a later date please note that when you check-out. Arrangements can then be made to have your cattle ready when you arrive. SAVE ON SHIPPING AND HANDLING You can save shipping and handling charges by picking up semen that you will need for your fall or spring breeding season at the Cavender Ranches Sale at Cavender’s Neches River Ranch. Representatives from either Cavender Ranches or Integrated Breeders will be available to fill your orders. We would ask that you keep your orders to goblet increments of 5’s or 10’s so that we can avoid excessive handling of semen. Please contact Mark Cowan at 903-495-4522 or Todd Harvey at 386- 288-8059 to place your order prior to the sale to assure we have enough semen on hand and available on sale day. SALE ORDER The cattle will sell in sale order. We will have a printed sale order prior to the sale. Please note that commercial females will not be going through the ring and will be presented on video. GENETIC CONDITION POLICY Any animals that are confirmed as carriers of a genetic condition such as DD, developmental duplication, will be listed above their pedigrees as DDC. Any animals we are still waiting test results on will be listed DDPC. All other animals have been either confirmed free of known genetic conditions by test results or from pedigree analysis.
TRUSTED PERFORMANCE INFORMATION We are extremely dedicated to providing our customers the genetics needed to help positively impact their bottom line. We will not compromise the integrity of our data. Our utmost goal is to provide the information that will successfully identify the genetics most needed in your particular operation. The information provided by the IBBA was provided at weaning and yearling by the breeder for computation. We believe in EPD’s, but fully realize that they are only as good as the information provided to the association. Inaccurate weights and faulty contemporary groups lead to poor information and bad selection decisions. Please realize that these cattle were in different contemporary groupings at weaning; therefore, it is not fair to compare birth, weaning and yearling weights from one herd to another. A wide range of environments are represented in this offering and thus have affected those weights, plus different management comes into play, i.e. creep fed vs. not creep fed. Within herd weights and ratios were good when that was the only information we had. However, EPD’s are a much better indicator of genetic potential and are the only way across herd comparisons can be made. Also, we have listed the current non-parent Brangus breed average EPD’s in the catalog for your reference and comparison on how individual lots compare to the average of the breed in any trait. ULTRABLACK The Ultrablack program has been a major success for us and an in-demand product for our commercial customers. Please note that we have noted the UB1 cattle in this catalog with a green highlight and the UB2 with a blue highlight. We have not however made note of those females that may be carrying the service of an Angus sire or Ultrablack sire. While viewing this offering please keep this in
mind so that you are aware of what these female lots are bred to. MAINTENANCE AFTER THE SALE Cavender’s Neches River Ranch will work with customers on delivery of cattle in an effort to have the cattle delivered to customers as soon as possible after the sale. However, if you are not ready for the cattle at this time we will maintain the cattle at the ranch for a period of time until you are ready for them. A nominal fee of $3.50 per day will be charged plus any veterinarian charges incurred will be billed. Cattle will be maintained on a growing ration in grass traps. Cattle become the buyer’s responsibility immediately after the sale. Cavender Ranches is not responsible for insurance costs or death. TRUCKING At the conclusion of the sale or as soon as possible following the sale if purchases are made via video or sight unseen agreement; please notify the sales staff as to specific instructions about cattle delivery. If you request our assistance the Cavender Ranches staff will make every effort to help coordinate the most reliable and economical trucking available. Trucking expense will be the responsibility of the purchaser except on purchases of 10 or more bulls. Please see Free Delivery to Central Points offer. If you prefer to make your own arrangements Mike Cox Trucking will be available sale day to discuss your needs or we can place you in contact with other reliable truckers. Please note that the animals you purchase become your responsibility at time of purchase. Cavender Ranches nor any of the breeders involved in this sale take responsibility for animals that may be injured in transport. Insurance is available for those who would desire that coverage.
