Electronic Prescribing House Bill 1103 and Companion Senate Bill 1830 The legislation would have required prescribers to telephonically or electronically generate and transmit prescriptions. However, a prescriber may provide a written prescription if electronic prescribing is unavailable due to a temporary electrical or technological failure or the prescription is provided to a patient of a free clinic, hospital’s emergency department, or health care practitioner providing free services. Dispensing Medicinal Drugs Senate Bill 100 and Companion House Bill 57 The legislation would have authorized licensed prescribers to dispense 48-hour supplies of drugs, rather than 24-hour supplies, to hospital emergency department patients and discharged patients. It would have authorized a licensed prescriber to dispense 72-hour supplies of drugs during declared states of emergency in their areas.

Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) House Bill 833 and Companion Senate Bill 916 The legislation would have directed Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, in consultation with DOEA, to review and consider program applications submitted by entities seeking to become PACE organizations.

Health Care Practitioner Licensure / Dept. of Health Senate Bill 926 and Companion House Bill 1143 The legislation would have authorized Florida to enter into the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact , the multi-state agreement which sets forth an expedited path for physicians to apply for and receive licenses in states where they are not currently licensed.

Prescription Insulin Drugs Senate Bill 116 and Companion House Bill 109 The legislation would have required health insurers and Health Maintenance Organizations to limit the consumer cost sharing of the 30-day supply of insulin to no more than $100.

Price Transparency in Health Care Services House Bill 1205 and Companion Senate Bill 1626 The legislation would have prohibited a health maintenance organization or health care insurer from requiring a subscriber to make a payment for a covered service that would have exceeded the cash price for that service.

Medicaid Services Senate Bill 52

Health Insurance Benefits Senate Bill 1836 and Companion House Bill 1279 The legislation would have increased the range of shared savings incentive services covered under the 2019 Patient Saving Act.

The legislation would have placed into Florida’s statutes current regulatory policy under which Medicaid retroactively covers eligible health care expenditures back to the first day of the month in which a non-pregnant adult applies for Medicaid.
