Emergency Sheltering of Persons with Pets House Bill 705 and Companion Senate Bill 752 The legislation requires counties that maintain emergency shelters to designate a shelter that can accommodate persons with pets. The shelter must be in compliance with applicable Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster assistance requirements and with local and state comprehensive emergency management plans. The legislation is now Chapter No. 2020-132, Laws of Florida, effective July 1, 2020.
State Funds Senate Bill 306 and Companion House Bill 381 The legislation would have exempted the affordable housing monies in the State and Local Government Housing Trust Fund from a provision authorizing the Legislature to sweep unappropriated cash balances from certain trust funds to the General Revenue Fund.
