Volleyball: EVP Jr. Volleykidz • AGES 11-14 Improve volleyball skills with drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. Lesson plans direct the use of individual training, pairing drills and game situation development that help each student reach a new level. Instructors organize short games at the end of each class. The lesson plan also incorporates leadership and educational components. Coaches will develop a team and bring game-like drills to the weekly instruction to prepare for matches. The coaches’ lesson plan will guide the team in weekly training. At weekly practice the teams will learn team defense and offense positions while they improve on their fundamentals of passing, setting, spiking and overhand spiking. Improve your hand/eye coordination and left/right coordination through the use of fun drills and games. Volleykidz curriculum also includes short educational drills that incorporate spelling, math and science. This program focuses on the discipline and training in foil. A foil is a thrusting weapon with a thin, flexible blade and a small, round bell guard. Martial Arts: ISKC Karate Adult • AGES 15 AND UP Release tension and develop total body fitness through karate! In addition to teaching self-defense skills, karate develops flexibility, muscle tone and improves core strength. Continuing students need to purchase additional protective gear. Beginning students will not be permitted to register in the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but full class fee will be required. Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor for an additional fee. Program consists of instruction followed by actual coach supervised game play, ensuring that players will pick up the skills needed to start enjoying the game at beginner level open play. Players should wear athletic shoes and dress as for tennis. Equipment is provided, but we highly encourage bringing your own paddle.
