After several years away, one of Nova Scotia’s most beloved music festivals is making a triumphant return. Rock the Hub is back in Truro from July 24-26, 2026, bringing three nights of outstanding Canadian music to the Hub of Nova Scotia and reigniting the excitement that made the event a summer tradition for concertgoers across Atlantic Canada. Originally launched in 2017, Rock the Hub quickly established itself as one of the region’s premier outdoor music festivals. The event attracted thousands of fans each year to downtown Truro, showcasing some of Canada’s biggest rock acts while providing a major economic boost for local businesses. Like many live entertainment events, the festival faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, eventually taking a hiatus following the 2022 edition. Now, after a four-year absence, organizers have brought the festival back bigger than ever for 2026. The 2026 edition promises a diverse lineup that blends East Coast favourites, alternative rock legends, and some of Canada’s most celebrated touring artists. The festival kicks off Friday, July 24, with Newfoundland icon Alan Doyle headlining the evening. Joining him are renowned Cape Breton fiddler Ashley MacIsaac, Nova Scotia singer- songwriter Dave Sampson, and East Coast roots-rock favourites Pretty Archie. Saturday’s lineup shifts toward alternative and modern rock with acclaimed Canadian
songwriter Matthew Good and his band taking top billing. Fans can also look forward to performances from multi-platinum rock group Default, award-winning duo Dear Rouge, and rising Cape Breton powerhouse rocker Elyse Aeryn kicking off night two in the Hub. The festival weekend closes on Sunday with Canadian rock powerhouse Big Wreck headlining the final night, supported by the high-energy sounds of Death From Above 1979, Alberta hard-rock favourites Royal Tusk, and Nova Scotia’s own Dali Van Gogh. Beyond the music, attendees can expect the festival atmosphere that Rock the Hub has become known for. The downtown Truro venue offers food vendors, licensed beverage areas, VIP experiences, and the opportunity to enjoy live music under the summer sky alongside thousands of fellow music fans. The event remains a 19+ festival and is expected to draw visitors from throughout the Maritimes and beyond. For Truro, the return of Rock the Hub is more than just a concert weekend—it is a celebration of community and the return of live music to the Hubtown after the loss of the Nova Scotia Stampede announced earlier this year by town council.
