Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Act as the primary point of contact for UCLan staff, students and external agencies for all estates and facilities management matters at the UCLan Westlakes Campus. 2. Provide leadership, line management and continuing professional development for the in-house team to maximise their individual and collective engagement and potential. 3. Manage and develop systems to effectively manage, escalate and control issues and risk associated with estates and facilities management services at the Westlakes Campus. 4. Manage and develop systems to effectively manage, monitor, and control budgets and expenditure relating to estates and facilities management at the Westlakes Campus. 5. Ensure that the estates and facilities management services provided at the Westlakes Campus are developed and maintained to respond to the business need and meet customer expectation. 6. Through the established line management structure, ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments and standard operating procedures are developed for all estates and facilities management operations at the Westlakes Campus. 7. Work with the central Estates Compliance team based at Preston to ensure that the Westlakes Campus always remains safe and compliant with statutory legislation. 8. Act as the primary point of contact for UCLan Accommodation Team (Student Services) for all estates and facilities management matters relating to the UCLan residential/ living accommodation. 9. Develop, implement, and monitor clear and service level agreements (SLA’s) for all estates and facilities management services provided

by suppliers and contractors at the Westlakes Campus – proactively managing their performance. 10. Provide the day-to-day operational management of the FM contract for hard and soft services – an external contractor providing core estates and facilities management services at the Westlakes Campus. 11. Produce Monthly Management Repots covering 12. Work collaboratively with the central Estates and Campus Services team based at Preston to ensure the following at the Westlakes Campus: • The effective prioritisation and completion of reactive and planned maintenance and cleaning operations at the Westlakes Campus. • The maintenance of a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and accessible Campus for all. • The effective management and control of issues and risks associated with estates and facilities management operations at the Westlakes Campus. • The provision of a consistently high- quality catering and hospitality offer at the Westlakes Campus. • The Campus and estates and facilities management operations remain safe and compliant at all times. • Effective management and control of contractors and suppliers. • The consistent application of University policies, process, systems and procedures. 13. To act as primary contact for and ensure that an ‘out of hours’ call out service is available 24/7/365 via internal and external resources for emergency/critical incident response. 14. To lead and coordinate responses to emergencies and the initiation of business recovery and continuity plans at the Westlakes Campus. 15. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and grade as determined by the Head of Estates Operations.

Job Purpose: To lead the estates and facilities management teams at the UCLan Westlakes Campus to ensure that the estate is maintained to the high standards articulated within university strategies, policies, and procedures, in accordance with industry/sector best practice, and is fully compliant with statutory legislation. With support from the central Estates and Campus Services management team based at Preston, provide the day- to-day operational management and

coordination of the following estates and facilities management services and functions at the Westlakes Campus: • Catering and hospitality • Security and risk management • Engineering and maintenance • Cleaning and hygiene • Car parking management • Mailroom and deliveries • Caretaking and general portering • Reception and helpdesk.
