FYZICAL Is NOT Shy About Fixing Your Leaking Bladder

Frequently Asked Questions: I’ve already tried Kegels? What more will physical therapy do? It’s true that part of the process will likely include some pelvic floor strengthening exercises (often referred to as Kegels) But good pelvic floor therapy is much more than that. And unfortunatelymost people who attempt “Kegel’s,” perform them wrong. When we teach the strengthening exercises in therapy, we use feedback techniques that ensure you are using the correct technique. With the correct technique we can monitor the expected progress and reach our goals as expected. I s Pelvic Floor Therapy just for women? No, Traditionally this type of therapy has been called “Women’s Health” But we are moving away from the name, because it turns out that Men have many of the same problems as women. Including leaking bladder. That’s right men, no need to feel shy or embarrassed about this. It’s quite common. And more important, it’s fixable. Will I have to undress or have an internal exam? It depends on the situation and your individual problem. An internal exam (similar to a gynecological examination) is the gold-standard method of examination for pelvic floor therapy cases, but it’s not always necessary and you always have the ability to opt out if you prefer. However, our therapists are very professional and will keep you as comfortable and modest as possible during the process. You can count on the best results following the therapist’s recommended exam and treatment.

You might be unaware that leaking bladders are very common. (See the Stats to the right.) 50% of women over 65 years and 35% of all women have leaking bladders.

It’s nothing to be shy about.
