M UCH is being done and said these days about the splen did work the C h u r c h and icemen. They are busily engaged in distributing tracts, holding meetings, providing Christian Service centers. It is indeed a great ministry which God is blessing and which is appre ciated fully by those in the uniform of Uncle Sam. However, here in Palm Springs, California, at the Army Air base and the Army hospital, the tables are turned! The program has gone into reverse! The Christian “G.I.s” station ed here are taking the Gospel to the civilians! A few months ago, a Christian serv icemen’s Bible Class was formed. This is composed Of born-again men from the local air base and hospital. They meet weekly for Bible study, prayer and Christian fellowship. Out of this group has come a Gospel Team which is actively engaged in giving out the Gospel by message, testimony and song in the surrounding community. There are more invitations than can be accepted. A t . each service, souls have been won for Christ. The Lord has even made Army transportation possible! Thus the team meets its appointments promptly. Despite the Lord's rich blessing up on this service for Him, the “G.I.S” felt the need of a real revival and engaged in prayer to this end. They felt led to/ sponsor a week of con- centratecL^and consecrated, evangelis tic meetings, and this, too, was laid before Mt le Lord in earnest prayer.

The latest book from this well- known Bible expositor.

One day two of the group drove one hundred and twenty-five miles to Los Angeles with the object of lin ing up speakers for the special cam paign. They hoped to secure a dif* ferent speaker for each of the five nights. They were amazed and humbled at the way in which God answered. The doors opened wide, and they were certain of His leading. Before they left the city that evening, they had the promise of such outstanding speakers as Charles E. Fuller, found er and leader of the Old-Fashioned Revival Hour; Louis T. Talbot, pas tor of the Church of the Open Door and president of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles; Paul Myers ( “First Mate Bob” ) and “crew” of the “Good Ship Grace” of the “Haven of Rest” radio broadcast; Don Householder, co- pastor of Trinity Methodist Church and youth leader; and Paul Kenyon, converted dance band director, and young people’s specialist. God sent an outpouring of the Holy Spirit up on each service conducted by these men of God. Results were good. God has blessed this venture of Christian military personnel to win others to their Saviour. Surely this is better than merely “ being minis tered unto” by the civilian Christians. Perhaps this is the beginning of a new type of work; if may be that the Lord will make use of. many soldiers, sailors and Marines to thus serve as “missionaries” in the communities where they are' stationed. Surely this work is deserving of a place on the prayer lists of all Christians. i
