THE K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S

E lisha asked th e woman w hat she had in th e house, and she told him she did no t have anything, except a pot of oil. You see th e re was nothing she could sell to get any money w ith, so w hat do you th ink E lisha did? He told her to go and borrow a lo t of empty vessels of all her neighbors, and bring them into h er house and sh u t th e door, and to pour out of th e pot of oil she had, into the empty vessels she had bor rowed, and as soon as the empty vessels were filled w ith oil to set them to one side. The woman did ju st as E lisha told her to do. The two boys were eager to help all they could, so they carried th e empty vessels to th eir mother, and as they were filled w ith oil they set them aside. There was ju st th e one pot of oil, yet it k ep t coming and coming un til all th e vessels she had borrowed were full of oil. Then the mother came and told E lisha, and he said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay the man w hat thy husband owed him, and take the money th a t is left to buy food for thee and thy children.” The one thing th a t saved th is home from being broken up and m other and sons separated, was obedience. The m other did w hat th e m inister of .God told her to do, and the boys did all they could to help th e ir mother. Our memory verse for today is one of th e most wonderful in the whole Bible, and we must learn it-so well we will never forget it. Then by doing as it says, we can help to make our homes happy. “Children, obey your p aren ts in all things, for th is is well pleasing in the Lord.” Let us always remember to do th e th ing th a t pleases fath e r and mother. In doing this, we shall be honoring them and pleasing God. Closing P ray er.—¡-Dear Lord Jesus, we th a n k thee for our homes, and may we always do all we can to make them happy homes.
