2023 Committee Goals – Initial Look
All Board Activity Committees have discussed and adopted goals for 2023 as of their January Committee meetings. Committees responsible for these goals are noted in blue.
Membership: (all membership goals below handled by Membership Committee) • Clarity and process around wait list management • DIB initiatives, both internally and externally • Continue efforts to improve understanding of expectations of behavior of Junior Members • Evaluate the need, feasibility, and process around creating a temporary membership category.
Finance: •
Continued work on Business Model Education (Strategic Planning Committee) • Golf Committee plans to research data aggregator program that can assist with analyzing the GAP on multiple data points. Make recommendation to Committee for revision to Golf Activities Package structure and fee schedule. (Golf Committee)
Governance: •
Review of Board load and evaluation of how time is spent (Executive Committee)
Staff/Staff Development: (Staff & Executive Committee) • With a new HR Director in place, goals will be more effectively established • Continued Succession Planning Efforts • Begin a full- scale review of the Club’s benefits package • Create a full-scale staff communications plan
Programming/Amenities: • Committees will focus innovative ways to deal with the compression and access issues that we are facing with high membership totals and continued increase usage post-pandemic. (ALL Committees) • Youth Department plans to continue with focus groups to better understand the needs and desires of the end user (Athletics Committee) • House Committee plans to identify key areas of strategic advantage and how to enhance, protect or maintain in the future (House Committee) • House Committee plans to identify and strategize ways to leverage under-utilized assets (House Committee) Community Engagement: (ALL Committees) • The following are examples of organizations that have been identified as potential partners in the future: o St. Andrews School o Virginia State University o Virginia Union University o Peavey Project • Staff will work to find ways to enhance leverage around the DECC
Facilities: •
Adult pool refresh (Athletics Committee)
• TC Golf Master Plan complete (Golf Committee) • WH Clubhouse & Adjacencies Master Plan complete (House Committee) • Begin JR Clubhouse Master Plan (House Committee) • Begin to identify and evaluate uses for the property at 6000 St. Andrews Lane. (Committee TBD) • Begin to positively impact safety at the corner of St. Andrews Lane and Three Chopt Road (Committee TBD) Innovation: • Golf Committee plans to research, recommend, and implement technology systems that will benefit the operations and member experience. (Golf Committee)
