BRAIN WORK
Under Nevada law, an injured worker who travels to a medical provider’s office (either more than 20 miles one way or for a total of more than 40 miles during a week) is permitted to submit for reimbursement of their mileage; see NAC 616C.150. That reimbursement rate is the same rate the IRS sets for mileage reimbursement for that particular year. In 2022, the standard mileage rate set by the IRS is 56 cents per mile. Ingredients
To be reimbursed, the injured workers must submit the mileage reimbursement form D-26 within 60 days of each trip that qualifies under the law.
• 8 oz tempeh • 1/2 cup vegetable broth • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar • 1 tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce • 1 tsp liquid smoke • 1 tsp onion powder • 1 tsp paprika • 1/2 tsp garlic powder • 2 tbsp olive oil • Bread of choice, toasted • 1/2 cup sauerkraut • Vegan Swiss cheese (optional) • 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing
It’s a good idea to keep copies of your mileage forms that you submit, just in case the adjuster loses the form.
Directions
1. Cut tempeh into 4 thin slices. 2. In a shallow bowl, combine broth, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, onion powder, paprika, and garlic powder. Marinate tempeh in mixture for 30 minutes. 3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil. Cook tempeh in the oil for 5 minutes per side. 4. Between toasted bread, layer tempeh, sauerkraut, cheese (optional), and dressing. Enjoy immediately.
