Trees are important oxygen producers and help provide energy-saving shade. The presence of trees positively impacts our psychological well-being. CIGARETTE LITTER AWARENESS DAY Sat., Feb. 8, 12 – 3 p.m.
Cigarette litter hurts Pearland in numerous ways. To help educate the public, Keep Pearland Beautiful is hosting its annual Cigarette Litter Awareness Day on Saturday, February 8. At noon, volunteers will meet at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center for lunch and a safety briefing. Volunteers will spend the afternoon picking up cigarette litter along Pearland street intersections. Last year, volunteers picked up 18,263 cigarette butts.
