Does the facility have a written Safety and Health program, that contains at a minimum an Organizational Structure,
Training Program, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), for personnel whose job requires them to handle hazardous materials or waste?
Are similar materials being stored together and different classes of material segregated (ignitability; corrosives; reactivity; toxicity)? See “Incompatibility Chart.” Are Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all materials current and accessible to facility staff? Are personnel responsible for handling hazardous materials/waste trained? Request an example copy of training documentation.
