THE STUDENT SERvicES TEAm iS cOmmiTTED TO PROviDiNG HiGH qUALiTY SUPPORT TO ALL STUDENTS iN THE cOLLEGE
The Team also runs sessions that help students to progress on to higher education or employment. The workshops are supplemented by personalised 1:1 support and enrichment which could be a trip, an employer visit, guest speakers or group debates. Student services provide an inclusive environment to support all students with declared additional support needs. Working collaboratively, we ensure students receive the support they require to reduce the barriers, through personalised learning and special adjustments. Support with English and maths, exam access arrangements, speech, language and social communication as well as self-esteem and confidence are facilitated in and out of the classroom. Student Services builds resilience so the student can achieve.
Taking a student-centred approach, our aim is to ensure that students: • are engaged and enjoy learning • have the opportunity to recognise and develop their abilities • work towards their next steps and succeed in learning. Our aim is to facilitate students’ transition into adulthood, whether into employment, education or training. Through Student Services, students attend workshops in the tutorial slot covering a range of topics such as: • Sexual health • Drugs
• British Values • Safeguarding • Positive Behaviour • Motivation
