AICC’s advocacy for the corrugated industry remains a basic pillar of the organization with a presence on Capitol Hill through third-party organizations. AICC’s Packaging University offers more than 100 on- line courses, many of them in Spanish, on everything from safety and corrugated basics to dealing with displeased customers and accounting. “We keep adding and refresh- ing courses and making things different,” D’Angelo said. Going into the podcast business was also a great move, D’Angelo said. Each month, Breaking Down Box- es, co-hosted by AICC members Gene Marino, President of Akers Packaging Service Group, and Joe Morelli, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Huston Patterson Print- ers and Lewisburg Printing Co., member companies share their unique packaging stories. “I’ve learned so much about our members. I’ve been either a member of AICC or on the staff of AICC for more than 30 years now and you think you know the stories and then you hear things you didn’t know,” D’Angelo said.
