The Manufacturing Institute, the workforce development and education affiliate of the National Association of Man- ufacturers (NAM), has announced that its 2026 Manufac- turing Day (MFG Day) will take place on October 2. Each year on the first Friday in October (with events con- tinuing throughout the month and beyond), manufacturers and their partners across the country open their doors to students, educators, parents and community members to show what modern manufacturing really looks like. Plant tours, hands-on activities, career conversations, classroom visits and community events are changing the way a new generation sees our industry. An event qualifies as an official MFG Day event if it meets one or more of the following criteria: Expands awareness of modern manufacturing careers among any audience; positively shifts perceptions of the manufac- turing industry; or inspires individuals of any age or back- ground to explore manufacturing as a career path. MFG Day belongs to everyone who believes in the fu- ture of American manufacturing, and every effort to ad- vance that mission is part of the movement. There is no required date, no minimum attendance and no formal reg- istration process. For more information, visit www.mfgday.com .
