TPT wants the outdoors to be a place for everyone to explore.
In February, as part of Minnesota Outdoors, TPT partnered with Melanin in Motion, the Loppet Foundation, and the Healing Justice Foundation to host Hello + Winter: Building BIPOC Outdoors Community at Theodore Wirth Park Trailhead. This successful event drew over 100 participants. Anthony Taylor, an outdoor activist and one of the founders of Melanin in Motion, ran the free event. Chance York, host of TPT’s digital series Outside Chance , was in attendance. The event was geared toward communities of color and designed for those who were new to winter outdoor sports. Attendees had the opportunity to learn to cross-country ski, enjoy snacks, and celebrate the outdoors as a space for everyone.
